Although Ludwig had been producing drums and refining their construction techniques and sense of high quality craftsmanship for many years previously, the company received their greatest boost through the mother of all endorsers - The Beatles. In the peak period from 1963 to 1966 Ringo Starr, the drummer for The Beatles, was seen on countless television programs and photographs displaying the name Lugwig on his bass drumhead.
